Mindfulness Meditation Therapy Program

A 10-Week Course in Mindfulness, Stress Reduction and Cognitive Therapy

Mindfulness is the art of paying attention in a particular way: the present moment, on purpose, and non-judgmentally. As we learn to do this in a systematic fashion, we are able to develop an increased understanding and ability to respond in positive ways to our lives. The 10-week group program includes developing moment-by-moment awareness using breath and daily life activities; learning cognitive techniques to respond to thoughts; and cultivating attitudes of patience, openness, acceptance, trust, gentleness, letting go and beginning again. > Read a sample mindfulness program in PDF

Mindfulness was first adapted to a modern health-based context by Dr. John Kabat-Zinn (1990). Since then medical research has unequivocally shown the efficacy of mindfulness in reducing effects of stress, in treating depression and anxiety, and in helping us find balance in our emotional lives.
